Victoria Kenrick

PERSON-CENTRED PSYCHOTHERAPIST

Approach and background

My approach is person centred, which puts you and your subjective experience of the world at the centre of our work together. Person centred therapy believes that a person is inherently driven towards growth, and given the right conditions and a healing relationship, can reach their full potential and become their true self.

We all see the world in our own unique way, and I will value and respect your individuality and respond to your unique needs. I see myself as a partner, working with you, as you discover your own inner resources, not as an ‘expert’ who imposes solutions or strategies. I offer a space which is safe, non-judgemental, empathetic and transparent.

Many things bring us to therapy, and it can seem a daunting prospect, but I believe it is a gift to yourself, to allow you to have a deeper self-awareness, understand your defences and become more open to living a fuller and more content life with a feeling of greater self-confidence and autonomy.

I have experience of working with anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma, neuro-diversity, disability and body image issues, sudden change in life and life's transitions. I am signed off for private practice and working towards full accreditation with UKCP. I am a trainee member with UKCP and adhere to their ethical framework and professional practice.
