Ted Turver

TRAINEE AT METANOIA INSTITUTE

Background

I was born in Manchester but spent most of my life growing up in Hampshire. After leaving university, I explored a few careers and during that time was confronted with thoughts and feelings that led me to therapy. It was through my own experience in therapy that I realised it is actually a career too! And I couldn’t be happier to have had this realisation because I finally feel like I have found what it is I am supposed to do.

Training goals

I am currently studying an MsC in Person-centred psychotherapy, which is a modality that aligns most with my approach to life. However, I recognise that over my career there are many other trainings I’d like to try, particularly Internal Family Systems. In any of the training I complete, I am most interested in how they can be applied to and help those suffering from addiction, while also knowing that I am deeply interested in human beings and how they relate to one another.

Membership

I am a registered student member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)
