Sean Hart
TRAINEE AT METANOIA INSTITUTE
Background
I have worked in the creative industries for many years which I believe informs my approach as a counsellor. Being interested in what makes us a person has always been a part of what attracted me to that work, and I carry that with me. My own experience of receiving therapy helped me place myself, which was a powerful shift. This inspired me to become a therapist myself. I grew up in the local area and am part of the LGBTQ+ community. I have an interest in mindfulness practices and movement.
Training goals
I am a Humanistic counsellor, fusing Person-centered, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis. I am very comfortable and happy working with anyone, though my identity as a gay man may be an important thing for someone to work with (or not). Seeing the process unfold and connecting with people has been a powerful outcome of this work for me, and I hope to be able to continue that exploration at The Brixton Practice.
Membership
I am a registered student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
