THERAPIST

Approach and background

Imagine meeting someone. Someone who will listen without judgement. Someone you can share your inner thoughts and feelings with; things you have never told anyone; things that may come with shame; things that should never be voiced; things that rattle around in your head, as a reminder of how unworthy you are; bringing you down; knocking your confidence; affecting your relationships, or preventing you from even getting close to anyone in the first place; affecting your work and career aspirations; causing what we call stress, or anxiety, or low self-esteem, or depression.

Imagine having someone there who can be with you as you navigate big adverse life events, like bereavement, or relationship breakdown, or loss of a job. Someone who will listen. Someone you can cry in front of, or be angry with, without worrying you might offend them, or cause them to push you away.

Or if you are caring for someone and you can’t stop being angry and irritable over the smallest things, and you just want to turn up for them, because you love them and want to look after them, but you can’t tell anyone, because they might think you’re a bad person. Imagine if you met someone who you could tell?

I met someone like that and it was life changing and that is what I offer you.

I am trained in transactional analysis, but work relationally, which means that change is created through our relationship. I am also trained in intersectionality, which means that I use our difference as part of the therapeutic process.

I have a special appreciation for neurodivergence, traumatic bereavement, unpaid care, and work-related stress.
