Ellie Slade

TRAINEE AT LONDON SOUTH BANK UNIVERSITY

Background

Hi, I’m Ellie

I am training as an Integrative Counsellor, with a foundation in person-centred and psychodynamic approaches. The person-centred approach is at the heart of my work, as I believe therapy begins with creating a safe, trusting, and non-judgemental space where you feel truly heard, and go at your pace. Alongside this, psychodynamic ideas help in exploring how past experiences and relationships may be shaping what’s happening for you in the present.

Previously, I spent three years living and working in Greece, supporting adults and children living in refugee camps. I now work for a charity that supports young people with their mental health and wellbeing. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the ways people navigate life’s challenges, and they continue to inspire my work as a counsellor-in-training.

Training goals

My aim is to provide a welcoming environment where the therapeutic relationship supports growth and self-understanding. I believe that simply having somewhere to feel comfortable, supported, and understood can be deeply healing in itself.

Membership

I am a registered student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), whose code of ethics I abide by.
