Danielle Brathwaite

TRAINEE AT LSBC LONDON SOUTH BANK COLLEGE

Background

My name is Danielle and I was born and raised in London. I have a strong interest in health and social care and over two years experience working on the frontline of the NHS. This experience deepened my passion for supporting others through difficult and often vulnerable periods of their lives, with empathy, respect, and without judgement.

Helping others has always felt like a core part of who I am. Alongside my professional experience, navigating my own personal challenges has shown me firsthand the importance of being truly heard and having the right support at the right time. These experiences were life changing and inspired me to begin my counselling journey.

Training goals

Training as an integrative counsellor I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to meet each client’s individual needs. At the heart of my work is a person-centred approach, providing you with a safe and non-judgemental space where you feel truly seen and heard. Also drawing from a Psychodynamic approach, exploring how past experiences shape and show up in your present, and a Humanistic approach, exploring and focusing on your personal growth and reaching your highest potential. I believe that you are the expert in your own life and that you already hold the capacity for growth, healing, and self understanding. My role is to walk alongside you as a supportive facilitator, offering empathy, authenticity, and a non-judgemental presence. I work with deep respect for each person’s unique identity, with a strong commitment to cultural sensitivity and awareness.

In my trainee counselling role, I hope to gain meaningful experience of working alongside clients in a therapeutic relationship and develop my skills, confidence, and professional identity, while offering ethical and compassionate support to clients.
